Child-oriented engagement to inform the Sir Joseph Banks Park Masterplan | NSW

Cred Consulting, Bayside Council and Collective Impact Arts

This commendation recognises an innovative engagement process led by Cred Consulting, to improve built form and offer an age group not often heard the opportunity to influence a project outcome . The work informed a master planning process to upgrade playground facilities and to create a regional play space that supports the recreational needs of children under 12 years of age in Sir Joseph Banks Park in Botany. Through identifying the needs and wants of children for design changes they wish to see within their playing spaces - this masterplan provides an invaluable, child friendly approach to urban planning. The process reinforces the capacity of children to engage in built form discussions and results in an environment that is safe and enjoyable for kids, is an environment for all.
