Improving Australian climate change adaption strategies: learning from international experience.
This AHURI research report is a deserving winner of the 黑料大事 Research Award. It addresses a critical aspect of planning essential to the health and safety of our future communities and landscapes. The report presents a pathway for improving the resilience of urban and regional settlements to natural disasters, identifying three key strategic approaches and a framework for adoption across Australia.
By drawing from international case studies and supported by interviews with local stakeholders, this research illustrates how both immediate and long-term planning interventions can greatly enhance the resilience of Australian communities and infrastructure.
