About this Position:
This is a permanent role forming part of our Strategic ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ team and you'll be working on shaping and implementing exciting programs, strategies and initiatives that contribute towards achieving Council’s strategic planning objectives that support economic, social and environmental development within the our Local Government Area (LGA).The role is a permanent full time role with excellent flexibility, primarily based at our Corporate Centre in Goonellabah.

What we trust you to deliver:
- Develop and implement programs, strategies and initiatives that contribute towards achieving the Council’s Strategic Plan
- Delivery of the Council’s strategic planning framework as well as a broad range of strategic and corporate projects, documents and policies
- Provide expert and professional advice to Council and members of the public on land use planning, and other relevant strategic planning matters
- Apply expert knowledge of the Environmental ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ & Assessment Act 1979 and other related legislation to the assessment of planning proposals
What you'll need to be successful:
- Tertiary qualification in Urban and Regional ºÚÁÏ´óÊÂ or related discipline
- Sound knowledge of planning principles and project management in a local government context
- Demonstrated project management skills
- Expert knowledge of strategic planning functions and good working knowledge of development control and assessment in relation to policy preparation
- Demonstrated experience in practical application of statutory requirements of various Acts, Regulations and guidelines relevant to the position

Full position description:
Permanent Position: 70 hours a fortnight
Salary: Attractive salary available for the right candidate
