An energetic town planner is needed to support the continued growth of the Springfield branch office. Springfield Office
Our Springfield office is a relaxed and supportive team environment with an inclusive and proactive culture. We have a high level of collaboration between service streams and exposure to local and state government projects. You would be working with a team of 5 planners on a growing number of large-scale developments and infrastructure projects within the western/south-western growth corridor and South East Queensland generally. Recent/ongoing projects include:
- ‘Tarnbrae’, ‘Pebble Creek’ and ‘Flourish’ master-planned developments – within Greater Flagstone Priority Development Area (PDA)
- Kagaru Context Plan Area – within Greater Flagstone PDA
- ‘Whiterock, ‘Hayfield’ and ‘Bellevue’ master-planned developments – within Ripley PDA
- Brisbane Metro city-shaping project – South Brisbane-Brisbane CBD
- Queensland Ballet Company headquarters and support infrastructure
- Dakabin Indigenous Health and Wellbeing Hub
- ‘Inspire Technology and Innovation Centre’ Redland Bay
- ‘Silk Lane’, ‘Nuage’ and ‘Hampton Yards’ mixed-used high density towers – within Woolloongabba PDA
About the Position
As a Town Planner in the Springfield team you will be responsible for undertaking assessments and preparing development applications or Ministerial Infrastructure Designation requests on a range of development sites under the supervision of a Senior Town Planner or Principal. This position is responsible for client liaison and project management of the application through all stages and dealings with all related consultants and state agencies; accordingly, the successful applicant will have appropriate command or ability to acquire knowledge of the State planning system.
While you will be supported by a team of experienced professionals in the provision of services, you will be responsible for delivery of specialist town planning advice and will work on a wide range of projects including master-planned developments, mixed-use built form projects, major infrastructure projects, infill development as well as a variety of other government and non-government projects.
The salary package will be dependent upon the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate, ranging from $60,000pa to $80,000pa, excluding superannuation. Flexible and/or part-time working arrangements will be considered upon request.

Our Springfield branch office is in Springfield City Group’s signature GE HQ tower overlooking Robelle Domain Parklands and Lagoon. You will be minutes’ walk away from the Orion shopping centre and Springfield Central Train Station.

Our sizeable team of 25 in town planning and urban design (including 5 based at Springfield), hold a breadth of experience delivering solutions for both private and public sector clients throughout Queensland and New South Wales. Our Springfield office has grown rapidly due to strong growth in the western corridor and return client demand for the quality services we offer. The team now comprises 5 planning group staff, 8 survey team members and a landscape architect.

- Demonstrated technical knowledge and experience within the development industry;
- An ability to work in an autonomous manner within a team environment;
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience speaking with influence in group settings;
- Enthusiasm for your professional field and demonstrated zest for projects whether large or modest;
- Ability to recognise competing issues and balance development outcomes against applicable planning provisions;
- Sound knowledge of the 黑料大事 Act 2016, Economic Development Act 2012 and related legislation;
- Bachelor of Town 黑料大事 or similar tertiary degree;
- Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office suite, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook; and
- Minimum one (1) year experience and eligibility for membership of the 黑料大事.
