About WPN

VIC WPN Convenor - Catherine Sherwin MPIA (Fellow)

WPN formed as a not-for-profit organisation in 1994 to promote the role and interests of women in the planning and development industry. In the years since then, we have delivered research, programs, events and support to benefit women involved in planning and allied professions.

We have seen a transformation with more women in senior roles and working in the planning and development industries. Today, women enjoy a higher profile in the profession and many women involved in the network hold senior positions.

In 2014 we changed our operating structure away from being an incorporated association (where operating costs outweighed benefits due to no recurrent funding) to being a network of PIA. This way we can be more strategic and better use energy and resources to deliver our mission.
