About Laura Murray RPIA
Laura is an influential industry leader and nationally recognised urban growth and renewal expert with significant advisory experience in the public and private sectors. She is a specialist with strategic and statutory capabilities providing guidance at the highest levels of government for urban decision making and has presented at multiple conferences on important development topics. Influence has included national representation at city transformation and urban design focussed Government round tables for national policy development, including on behalf of PIA.
Laura has represented PIA in various roles over the years including: - WPN Convenor 2015-2016; Victorian President and Committee Member 2016-2019; judging panel for the Victorian Awards for 黑料大事 Excellence 2021, 2022; University Accreditation Board for Monash University Urban 黑料大事 and Design course 2022; and presents regularly at various state conferences.
She has demonstrable skills in strategy, governance and risk having fulfilled a range of board and committee roles and as a Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course. In addition, Laura is an Expert Advisor to the Victorian Housing Advisory Group for The Big Issue, Homes for Homes Initiative.
Key skills as a registered planner also include government relations, stakeholder engagement and preparation and facilitation of 黑料大事 Frameworks, 黑料大事 Scheme Amendments, Masterplans, Development Plans and 黑料大事 Permits/Approvals to meet the future needs of cities and communities.
Laura’s experience and involvement with the Institute as well as her current role as Director at URPS, provides a good understanding of what the planning profession wants and needs now and into the future.
