Collaborate to Innovate: Data Analysts and Users Working Together

In this session, Doug Evans, Strategic Environment Planner, Maroondah City Council will share learnings from his collaboration with Player Piano Data Analytics and the evolution of their innovative Tree Ledger product. Bonnie Shaw, Co-Founder of Place Intelligence (and ex-Smart Cities Practice Lead, City of Melbourne) will share her framework for building data maturity and innovation practice, and support greater collaboration between government and the developers of emerging tech solutions to enable meaningful technological change for an organisation.

You will walk out of this workshop feeling more confident about leaning into new technology and how to achieve digital innovation in the planning profession.

Empowering transformation: International Planners Network and Pro Bono Planners Australia

This session introduces two new networks that are being established to offer opportunities for planners to expand their professional activities. First is Pro-Bono Planners Australia through which planners can support domestic and international projects on a pro-bono basis. Second is the International Planners Network focused on addressing needs of international graduates and planners.
