Let us introduce some of our panels
Day 1 | Thursday 19th September | 2:10 - 3:05pm
Creating a great city is more than the sum of its parts. It is not just planning reforms, removing barriers to housing - or even making great places. Great cities need sustained leadership to bring it all together. Great cities set in place ways of making good decisions consistently. This is why PIA have invited a panel to tackle how we can build up the best characteristics for city leadership, resilience and urban governance.

Day 2 | Friday 20th September | 10:50 - 11:45 am
Guest speaker James Thorpe joins us for an engaging and collaborative role-play session where you'll dive into the intricacies of a new hypothetical community planning proposal. Explore diverse perspectives, weigh various interests, and work towards a balanced solution.
"Over the past few years, the community of Dolphin Creek has experienced a lot of change. Once a sleepy hamlet, mostly for retirees that largely went under the radar. In the past decade it has experienced an increase in population and becoming a refugee for artists and creatives, families and popular tourist destination.
In response, local businesses have long advocated for a change in the development control plans for the popular high street that would allow them to extend their trading hours from 9pm - 12pm, allow outdoor dining and live music until 11pm.
To complicate things further, a new aged care facility has just been proposed within 200m of the Main Street, and there are concerns that increased footfall and noise might pose a risk to the residents and staff at the facility."
