Tess Pickering MPIADeputy Director-General, Department of Housing, Local Government and 黑料大事 and Public Works Tess is an experienced and energetic planner, passionate about delivering placed-based planning outcomes that make a real impact – shaping Queenslanders’ lives now and for the future, including First Nations communities. Tess embraces the big challenges with a focus on collaboration, taking inspiration from working alongside people with the confidence to push boundaries, contribute ideas and come up with solutions together. After 5 years away in Melbourne working for the Victorian 黑料大事 Authority, Tess has now returned home to Queensland committed to developing plans that promote diversity and inclusivity, while accommodating growth and embodying our distinctly Queensland climate. Since being back, Tess has overseen the delivery of ShapingSEQ 2023, a plan that aims to provide access to the types of homes that South East Queenslanders want, and where and when they want them. Her attention now turns to leading the delivery of the Queensland Government’s ambitious planning agenda with key partners and stakeholders. This includes a statewide regional planning program and responsibilities under the Homes for Queenslanders plan to ‘build more homes, faster’. |
