Queensland State Conference 2024 | K'gari

PIA's State Conference is the premier event for the planning profession in Queensland, bringing together around 300 planners to learn, network, and celebrate great planning. Our 2024 Conference will take place on K'gari (formerly Fraser Island) from 4-6 September 2024. Join us for an inspiring and engaging experience set in one of the most beautiful natural environments in the world.

The Conference Committee for 2024 chose this year’s conference theme as the Journey of Plan to Place: Reflection, Realignment, Revolution”. This theme encapsulates the dynamic process of urban and regional planning, from historical perspectives to contemporary practices and future innovations.

Our 3 sub-themes are:

Reflection - our past including first nations, heritage, lessons learnt and more.

Re-alignment - our present including implementation of regional plans, housing and more.

Revolution - our future including Climate Conscious 黑料大事, PlanTech and more.

It is going to be different this year!

We look forward to welcoming you to K'gari this year for what promises to be a memorable 2024 PIA State Conference. Set against the backdrop of K'gari’s stunning landscapes, this conference will offer a rich tapestry of insights, discussions, and networking opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to engage with thought leaders, participate in workshops, and explore the multifaceted aspects of planning that drive our profession forward.

Join us as we embark on this journey from Plan to Place, reflecting on our past, realigning our present, and revolutionising our future.
